BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - - In its final tune-up before next week’s Mid-American Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships, the Ball State track & field team posted 18 top 10 efforts at the Billy Hayes Invitational hosted by Indiana Friday at the Robert C. Haugh Track and Field Complex.
In addition to the 18 top 10 efforts, Ball State’s student-athletes posted nine career-bests at the meet, while adding three more season-best efforts.
Sophomore Christina Crawford led the way for the Cardinals with a first-place showing in the long jump, posting a career-best distance of 5.60m/18-4.5.
In the 200m dash, senior Janae Taylor posted a season-best time of 25.08 to place second in the event.
Freshman thrower Michaela Hull tallied a third-place finish in the discus with a career-best toss of 44.06m/144-7. Hull also placed eighth in the javelin with a toss of 29.30m/96-1.
The Ball State track & field team returns to action May 9-11 when it travels to Akron’s Lee R. Jackson Track & Field Complex for the 2013 Mid-American Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
