Western Michigan won the meet with 167 points, followed by Northern Illinois (109), Ball State (106) and Miami (72).
The Cardinals’ first win of the day came during the field events in the high jump as freshman Haley Austin (Avon, Ind./Avon) and sophomore Rebecca Lomax (Indianapolis, Ind./Southport H.S.) tallied a one-two finish with leaps of 5-7.00 and 5-5.00, respectively.
Ball State returned to pick up a win in the 3000m run, as freshman Courtney Edon (New Palestine, Ind./New Palestine) picked up a first-place finish with a time of 10:30.11.
The Cardinals also recorded top performance in the mile as juniors MaryKate Mellen (Michigan City, Ind./Michigan City) and Madeline Goheen (Fort Wayne, Ind./Bishop Dwenger) posted another one-two finish on the day with times of 5:05.49 and 5:10.90, respectively.
Next up for the squad, the Cardinals head to the Mid-American Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships in Akron, Ohio February 24-25.
