MUNCIE, Ind. - - After a very successful run at the Polytan Invitational last weekend, the Ball State outdoor track & field team looks for continued success at Saturday's Stan Lyons Invitational hosted by Butler.

The meet, which will be run at the Michael A. Carroll Track & Field Stadium on the campus of IUPUI, gets underway at 11 a.m. with the women's hammer throw. Track events are slated to begin at 4:30 p.m. with the women's 100m hurdles.

Despite a third-straight weekend of rough weather, the Cardinals posted a strong showing at last weekend's Polytan Invitational hosted by Indiana, posting 12 season-best efforts at the three-day meet.

Freshman Rebecca Lomax (Indianapolis, Ind./Southport H.S.) turned in BSU's top individual performance last weekend placing third in the high jump with a career-best leap of 5-5.75 (1.67m). The effort currently has her ranked fourth in the Mid-American Conference entering the weekend.

With a career-fast run of 2:12.60 in the 800m dash at last weekend's Polytan Invitational, junior distance runner Christine Talhelm (Indianapolis, Ind./Franklin Central H.S.) finds herself ranked eighth in the league.

Redshirt freshman thrower Melissa Dodaro (Reynoldsburg, Ohio/Reynoldsburg H.S.) added a pair of career-best efforts last weekend, with a fourth-place toss of 144-2 (43.95m) in the discus, and a 14th-place shot put effort of  38-7.75 (11.78m). Dodaro's discus effort currently has her ranked 15th in the league.

Rounding out BSU's top performers from last weekend was sophomore sprinter Judah Smith (Cincinnati, Ohio/Colerain H.S.) with a season-fast 400m dash time of 56.66. The effort placed her 13th at the meet, but has her ranked 11th in the league.
