T&F’s Ciasto-Poor Posts School Record At Dave Rankin
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - - Junior Hannah Ciasto-Poor (Bloomington, Ind. /Bloomington South) posted a school record in the pole vault to help guide the Ball State outdoor track & field team to a successful showing at this weekend’s Dave Rankin Invitational hosted by Purdue.
Ciasto-Poor successfully cleared the pole vault bar at a height of 3.72m, which tops the previous program record of 3.69m set by Lauren McNichols in 2009. In addition, the mark currently ranks as the 10th-best in the conference this season and is a Mid-American Conference outdoor championship automatic qualifying mark. Ciasto-Poor, who placed sixth overall, entered the meet ranked second in program history with a previous career-best pole vault of 3.53m set at last weekend’s Miami Invitational.
Overall, the Cardinals posted two event wins, 10 top five performances and 10 career-best performances at the two-day Dave Rankin Invitational.
Ball State’s first event victory came in the javelin, with sophomore Michaela Hull (Bloomington, Ind./South) turning in a career-best mark of 35.92m to take home top billing.
In the 400m hurdles, sophomore Becca Kropf (Goshen, Ind./Fairfield) crossed the finish line in a career-best 1:03.36 to edge out a pair of teammates and a Western Michigan runner.
