Women's Volleyball Announces 2014 Summer Camp Dates

   The Ball State women's volleyball team announced its 2014 summer camp dates, starting with its annual Individual Skills Camp (July 6-8). The program will also host a Team Camp (July 11-13), as well as one day camps for Hitters/Setters (July 9) and Libero/General Skills (July 9)  


$345: Residential Camper (Meals Included)

$290: Commuter Camper (Meals Included)

There will be two options offered within individual skills camp:

General Skills Camp: Ages: 9-18
   - Designed to teach campers the basic fundamentals for attacking, setting, passing, defense and serving.
   - Campers will also compete in camp competitions.

Positional Camp: Ages: 12-18
   - Designed to focus on specialized skill training and development specific to camper’s position.
   - Campers must choose to participate in position training for Middle Hitters, Outside Hitters, Setters or Liberos.

Each camper will be placed in a group based on her individual skill level.


HITTER & SETTER (July 9 / 8 am - Noon)
LIBERO & GENERAL SKILLS CAMP (July 9 / 2 - 6 pm)

$100 (No Meals Provided)

Hitter Camp: The emphasis of this camp will be to develop stronger front court skills of attacking and blocking by reviewing fundamentals and focusing on approach and arm swing work, blocking techniques and decision making. Sessions will consist of individual skill work coupled with combined training with setters for attacking and transition work.

Setter Camp: Campers attending our Setter Camp will focus on all the skills needed to become a more effective setter. Although the majority of training will consist of footwork, hand contact and setting repetitions, campers will also work on defensive skills, blocking, decision making, and setting live attackers.

Libero Camp: Campers attending this camp will work on every aspect of overall ball control with the primary emphasis being on passing and back court defensive skills. Other areas of training will include setting out-of system balls, attacking from the back court, and aggressive serving techniques.

General Skills Camp: This camp will focus on the development of basic skills. Each session is designed to help campers improve fundamental skills of serving, passing, digging, and attacking. Campers will also have the opportunity to apply these skills in camp competitions.

Each camper will be placed in groups according to their skill level.

The Ball State Volleyball Team Camp will provide your team with a balance of individual and team skill development along with steady competition. This format will equip your team with the experience to be more successful this fall. 

  • Each team will have an experienced camp coach to help guide your team through each session.
  • Each team must have a minimum of 8 players. If a team brings more than 14 players, two competing teams can be for made for team play sessions.

   2. Medical Release (for each player)
   3. Coach’s Housing & Meal Agreement

Team Camp Schedule:

Morning Sessions:
The morning sessions will consist of drills to help improve each individual's basic fundamentals.

Afternoon Sessions:
The afternoon sessions will consist of wash drills and team play. During these sessions, teams will be competing against other teams with an emphasis on developing offensive and defensive systems.

Evening Sessions:
The evening sessions will consist of team play against other teams of equal skill level.

Final Session:
The final session will be the Ball State Team Camp Tournament.
