Ball State Football Quick Hits

Ball State finished the 2013 season with a 10-3 overall record and a 7-1 mark in the Mid-American Conference.

The Cardinals competed in the GoDaddy Bowl after the 2013 season to mark back-to-back bowl appearances for only the second time in the school's 90-year history of football . . . The only other time Ball State has played in back-to-back bowls was after the 2007 and 2008 seasons.

The Cardinals have won 16 of their past 18 regular season contests . . . Ball State is 12-1 in its last 13 MAC contests.

Ball State posted 10 victories in 2013, which marks only the third time in the school's football history the Cardinals have won at least 10 games in a season . . . The Cardinals were 10-1 overall in 1978 . . . Ball State was 12-2 overall in 2008.

Ball State's seven MAC wins last season marks only the fifth time since joining the league in 1975 the Cardinals have tallied at least seven wins in the MAC . . . The Cardinals were 8-0 in 1978 and 2008, 7-0-1 in 1993 and 7-1 in 1996.

Ball State finished second in the MAC's West Division in 2013, which is the best finish for the program since winning the West in 2008.

Ball State reached bowl eligibility for a third straight season in 2013 . . . The last time the Cardinals won at least six games in three straight seasons came when the team reached the mark in four straight campaigns from 1988-91 . . . Ball State won six games in 2011, nine games in 2012 and 10 in 2013.

The Cardinals scored a school record 501 points last season, breaking the school standard for points in a year, which was 489 in 2008 . . . Ball State reached the 40-point plateau seven times in 2013 to set a school record . . . The Cardinals scored 50 or more points three times in 2013, which also set a Ball State record.
