The 2013-14 Ball State University women’s tennis team was named to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s All-Academic Team for the 15th time over the last 18 years.

Ball State was one of three schools to earn the ITA Academic honor out of eight Mid-American Conference women’s tennis programs.  Bowling Green and Western Michigan were also recognized with the award.

As a team the Cardinals combined for a 3.659 grade point average on the school’s 4.0 scale.  Five members of the squad received individual ITA Scholar-Athlete accolades, sophomore Courtney Earnest (3.821), freshman Marin Kanii (3.806), freshman Toni Ormond (3.966), junior Ashlyn Rang (3.511) and junior Courtney Wild (3.933 GPA).  This is the third time for Wild to receive the honor and the second time for Earnest.  It is the the first time Kanii, Ormond and Rang have been recognized with the award.

The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale).
