Women's Basketball Goes "Chillin' 4 Charity"
RELATED LINKS

It's become a national trend over the last few weeks: women's basketball teams dousing thier coaches in ice cold water for charity.  It's called #Chillin'4Charity, where coaches are called out by their peers before passing on the favor and receiving their arctic bath.  All proceeds go to the Kay Yow Foundation, helping raise awareness for breast cancer and funds for research.

The rules are simple.  A coach calls you out before they receive an ice water shower.  You then have 48 hours to respond by taking on the cold water challenge yourself.  Head coaches that fail to do so owe the Kay Yow Foundation $250.  Assistants owe $100.  If a coach answers the bell, the challenging head coach owes $50; $25 for assistants.

Called out by Louisville head coach Jeff Walz, Brady Sallee returned the favor by calling out Central Michigan's Sue Guevara, UT-Martin's Kevin McMillan and Xavier's Brian Neal.  Toledo's Katie Griggs issued the challenge to assistant Ryan Patterson, who responded by calling out CMU's Andrew Wodrich.  Rachel Galligan was called out by not one, but two coaches in Vanderbilt's Ashley Earley and South Alabama's Mallory Luckett.  Galligan turned around and challenged Northern Colorado's associate head coach Shalee Lehning and her former Ball State colleague in UAB's Ashleen Bracey.  Finally, Director of Operations Audrey Spencer called out St. Bonaventure coaches Jim Crowley and Kate Achter along with her Ball State mentor and current Taylor coach Kelly Packard.

But that's just the start of Ball State's #Chillin'4Charity, because the Cardinals added a twist.  Not only did the coaches get cold water dumped on them, but it was the Cardinal players themselves that did the deed...and they didn't get away with it so clean.  Check out the video to see the surprise conclusion.
