Two Rounds in the Books for Women’s Golf at UALR
HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, Ark. -- The Ball State women’s golf team sits in 11th place after Monday’s opening two rounds at the UALR Women’s Golf Classic.
Ball State junior Jenna Hague is tied for seventh on the individual leaderboard with a score of 8-over par 152 (77-75). Hague is only two shots out of second place. Vanessa Johnson of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi owns the lead at 1 over and is five shots clear of the field.
Wichita State and Middle Tennessee are tied for the team lead after Monday’s action with a score of 617 (+41) on a tight leaderboard. Seven of the 17 teams at the event will enter Tuesday’s final round within 10 shots of the lead.
Ball State, at 635 (317-318), will look to make a move on the closing 18 holes. The Cardinals are only four shots out of eighth place and nine strokes out of sixth.
Scores were high Monday on the 6,076-yard, par-72 track at Diamante Country Club. Cold weather and wet conditions made the layout play long.
Tuesday’s final round will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. CT (9:30 ET).
