Womenís Golf Set for UALR Classic in Arkansas
The Ball State women’s golf team will tee it up this week for the third time in its spring season at the UALR Women’s Golf Classic.
The tournament features two rounds Monday and one round Tuesday at Diamante Country Club in Hot Springs Village, Ark. The action begins both days with an 8:30 a.m. CT (9:30 ET) shotgun start.
The 17-team field features three of the top 100 in the Golfstat national rankings -- Georgia State (64), Middle Tennessee (86) and High Point (88).
In addition to Ball State and host UALR, the field also includes Arkansas State, Central Arkansas, Eastern Michigan, UMKC, Missouri State, Northern Iowa, Oral Roberts, Sam Houston State, South Alabama, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, UTEP and Wichita State.
Hague tops the Mid-American Conference with a 72.90 scoring average and ranks 37th in the national Golfstat Cup race. She tied for third the last time out at the Rio Verde Invitational for her ninth consecutive top-10 result.
Ball State finished eighth out of 18 teams at Rio Verde. Dobis fired a career-best round of 73 on the first day of the tournament.
This week’s event marks the eighth annual UALR Women’s Golf Classic. Sam Houston State is the defending champion for the event, which will be played on a 6,076-yard, par-72 layout.
Butler Spring Invitational
Ball State will also send three women’s golfers to compete Monday and Tuesday at the Butler Spring Invitational. The tournament will be played at Prestwick Country Club in Avon, Ind.
