Ball State men’s basketball signees are playing for the top two teams in the state of Indiana, according to the latest Indiana Basketball Coaches Association poll.
The rankings, released Sunday, show the Indianapolis Arsenal Tech team featuring Jeremie Tyler and Rashaun Richardson at No. 1. Sean Sellers’ Greensburg team, meanwhile, checks in at No. 2. All three players have signed to play for the Cardinals next year.
Tech, a Class 4A program which is sixth in the USA Today Super 25 national rankings, owns a record of 13-1 on the season. Tyler is averaging 14.7 points per game and shooting 53 percent from the floor, while Richardson is scoring 6.2 points per game.
Greensburg is a perfect 13-0 on the season in Indiana’s Class 3A. Sellers is scoring 17.6 points per game on 55 percent shooting from the floor and 52 percent from beyond the arc. The recently named McDonald’s All-America nominee is also averaging 6.2 rebounds per game.
The other member of Ball State’s four-player signing class, Francis Kiapway, is part of a 12-4 team at St. Thomas More School in Connecticut. Kiapway knocked down 6 of 7 3-pointers in his first game of the season before missing several weeks with illness. He has recently returned to the lineup.
