MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State women’s swimming and diving team ended the fall 2013 semester excelling in the pool, but also in the classroom. The team ended the semester with a team GPA of 3.51 and 16 student-athletes named to the Dean’s List. Last season the squad earned the distinction of being named a College Swimming Coaches Association of American Scholar All-America Team.

“I am very happy with our team’s academic performance this fall semester,” said head coach Kristy Castillo. “One of our team goals this year was to achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.5 and we have accomplished that goal. They are a very driven group academically and athletically and they hold themselves to a high standard.”

In addition, seniors Emily Wisolek and Jackie Iglesias along with freshmen Jessica Extine and Brittany Penn managed flawless 4.0 GPAs for the semester.

Congratulations to the women’s swimming and diving team for its work in and out of the pool during the semester. For more information about Ball State women’s swimming and diving check BallStateSports.com.
