MUNCIE, Ind. - Jenny (Eckert) Zorger, a former Ball State women's basketball player (1986-90) and a graduate of Huntington North High School, was named to the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame, as announced by the IHOF Board of Directors.

Zorger will receive the distinguished honor April 26, along with nine other inductees: Ellen DeVoe, Marilyn (Reckelhoff) Dippel, Laura Foreman, Greg Kirby, Kim (Barrier) McGuire, Teri More,  Lori (Meinerding) Morris-DeVries, Brenda (Kelsay) Simmons and Lisha (Robertson) Wilson.  Notre Dame head women's basketball coach Muffet McGraw will receive the silver medal award.

Zorger closed out her prep play with a career 1,365 points, which is a program record at Huntington North High School.  Zorger was the school's first Indiana All-Star in 1986.  She still holds career records at Huntington North for points, steals (373) and single-game scoring (35).

After her playing days with the Vikings, Zorger was a four-year letterwinner at Ball State.  She still ranks sixth on Ball State's all-time scoring list (1,432), second in assists (471) and steals (319).  Zorger was the 1990 Mid-American Conference Player of the Year.  She was named Ball State's Player of the Decade for the 1980's.  Zorger was also a 1989-90 First Team All-MAC recipient, two-time MAC Honorable Mention (1987-88 & 1988-89) honoree, two-time MAC All-Tournament Team selection (1989 & 1990), three-time Ball State Most Valuable Player and made the MAC All-Freshman Team during the 1986-87 season.

As a senior, Zorger ranked eighth in the country in steals per game (3.8), scored in 23-of-28 games and was the team’s co-captain.  Following her career as a Cardinal, she played one year professionally in the Women's Basketball Association.

Zorger, who is also a member of the Ball State Athletics Hall of Fame, is the assistant varsity coach at Columbia City High School.
