Majok Majok Selected Preseason All-MAC
MUNCIE, Ind. -- Ball State senior post player Majok Majok was named to the Preseason All-Mid-American Conference West Division Team announced Tuesday.
The preseason all-conference teams and preseason poll were selected based on a vote of media members from around the league.
Majok was joined on the All-West Division Team by Toledo’s Rian Pearson and Julius Brown, Western Michigan’s Shayne Whittington and Eastern Michigan’s Glenn Bryant.
A third-team All-MAC selection last season, Majok averaged nearly a double-double at 10.7 points and 9.8 rebounds in his first season with Ball State. The former junior college transfer led the conference and ranked among the top 20 nationally in rebounding average.
Majok is one of five scholarship seniors returning for a Ball State team that was picked to finish fourth in the West Division by the voters. Toledo was tabbed to win the West, while Akron was chosen as the favorite in the East Division.
The Preseason All-MAC East team consisted of Buffalo’s Javon McCrea and Will Regan, Akron’s Demetrius Treadwell and Quincy Diggs, and Miami’s Will Felder.
Ball State, under first-year head coach James Whitford, begins its 2013-14 season Monday, Nov. 4 with a 7 p.m. exhibition game against Marian at Worthen Arena. The Cardinals will open the regular season on the road Nov. 9 at Indiana State.
