MUNCIE, Ind. -- Ball State Sports Link, the nation's first fully immersive sports media and production program, will continue producing its weekly football show in partnership with WIPB-TV, Comcast Indiana and Fox College Sports in 2013.
3rd Down Chirp, delivered by Papa John’s, will provide viewers inside access to the Cardinals on and off the football field. The weekly show will air every week online at ballstatesports.com, plus additional episodes will be televised nationally on Fox College Sports.
Additional distribution for 3rd Down Chirp includes WIPB-TV in Muncie and statewide availability on Comcast Indiana 81 and the SL channel through Comcast on Demand.
“Sports Link does a great job and our communications school is fantastic,” Ball State head football coach Pete Lembo said. “It’s one of the shining stars of this University. We are excited to connect fans to both programs with 3rd Down Chirp.”
Created by 2012 SL graduate Ben Wagner, the 2013 version of 3rd Down Chirp will be produced by junior Drew Adamson. Sophomore Alex Seitz will serve as assistant producer.
Junior Luke Martin, sophomore Tyler Bradfield and senior Zach Hughes are the 2013 hosts and coordinating producers.
In addition, over 30 students as part of Sports Link and the new Digital Sports Production track will assist with the weekly show.
In cooperation with Ball State Athletics corporate sales, 3rd Down Chirp marks the third straight year with national sponsorship as Papa John’s will be the show’s exclusive sponsor.
3rd Down Chirp, delivered by Papa John’s, will begin Aug. 28 online, followed by additional shows on FCS, WIPB-TV and Comcast Indiana beginning in September and until the end of football season.
