Women's Tennis Ends Play At USTA/ITA Regionals

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Ball State women's tennis team concluded play at the USTA/ITA Regional Championships Monday in Memphis, Tenn.

The Cardinals placed five players in the main draw along with two doubles teams over the weekend.  Courtney Wild and Courtney Earnest were the only two players to advance in the main draw for Ball State.

In consolation action, Kristel Sanders advanced to Monday's competition but lost to Miami's Alix Thurman, 6-3, 6-4.  Sanders had made it to the consolation quarterfinals after defeating Eastern Kentucky's Kristina Labaja, 6-1, 6-2 on Sunday.

The Ball State women's tennis team will end fall play, Nov. 1-3 at Cincinnati.
