MUNCIE, Ind. -- The Ball State men’s golf team will close out its fall schedule this week outside Atlanta at Kennesaw State’s Pinetree Intercollegiate.
The 54-hole tournament includes two rounds Monday starting at 8 a.m. and the final round Tuesday on a par-72, 7,108-yard layout at Pinetree Country Club in Kennesaw, Ga.
The 12-team field also includes Akron, Chattanooga, Florida Gulf Coast, Indiana, Kennesaw State, Louisville, Northern Illinois, Samford, Troy, Texas-Pan American, Winthrop and Wofford.
Ball State was runner-up to Kennesaw State at last year’s event, while Tyler Merkel tied for third place individually to lead the Cardinals.
The trio of Merkel, McCormick Clouser and Keegan McKinney has been a part of the Ball State lineup for every event this fall and will lead the team into this week’s event, as well. McKinney is the reigning Mid-American Conference Golfer of the Week after posting the best finish of his rookie campaign with a tie for 17th at the Crooked Stick Intercollegiate.
Ball State is paired with Kennesaw State and Winthrop for Monday’s opening rounds with live scoring for the tournament available at golfstat.com.
