Men's Tennis Competes At ITA Regionals

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The Ball State men's tennis team competed at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional Championship Friday in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Two Cardinals advanced to the next round of the ITA Regionals, Ray Leonard advanced to the round of 64 after earning a bye on the first day.  He will face Ryan Smith of Vanderbilt Saturday at 8:30 a.m. True freshman Lucas Anderson won a three set thriller 6-3, 4-6, 6-3, over Marko Lovrinovic of Belmont in the round of 128 to move on to his next competition. 

In doubles action, Anderson and senior Austin Smith fell to Nils Ellefsen and Beck Pennington of Kentucky, 8-4.  The twosome of Patrick Elliott and Leonard also suffered a loss to the doubles tandem of Suresh Eswaran and Kris Yee of Vanderbilt, 8-4.

The Ball State men's tennis team continues aciton at the ITA Regionals Saturday in Knoxville, Tenn.
