Signed as an undrafted free agent by the Detroit Lions after his Ball State career, Holtz was released by the Lions and signed by the New York Giants.

After being released by the Giants on the final roster cuts by the NFL, Holtz is working out at Ball State and patiently awaiting another chance at a professional football career.
