Field Hockey Drops 10-2 Game to No. 19 Michigan

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Ball State field hockey team dropped a 10-2 game to No. 19 Michigan Sunday afternoon. Sophomore Allie White notched a goal for the Cardinals, her second goal of the season, while classmate Bethany Han tallied her first collegiate goal.

The Wolverines scored early on in the game with Leslie Smith getting a penalty stroke in the second minute. White was able to get a pass from junior Tarel Teach to beat the goalie to score the goal in the 30th minute. Han would register her goal in the 69th minute unassisted.

Sophomore Shelby Henley made six saves while Bianca Velez was credited with a defensive save, her third of the season.

Michigan was led by Rachael Mack who scored four goals on the day off of six shots.

Ball State will spend next weekend on the road as well, playing Miami on Friday, Oct. 11 at 5:30 p.m., before going to Michigan State on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 1 p.m.
