Cross Country Returns To Action @ Louisville Classic
MUNCIE, Ind. - - The Ball State cross country team returns to action Saturday, when it travels to Louisville, Ky., for the 12th-Annual Greater Louisville Classic hosted a E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park.
The Cardinals, along with 50 other teams, are slated to run in the Women’s 5K Blue Race which is set to begin at 11:30 a.m.
Hosted at the site of the 2012 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships, the event will be comprised of six total races and is slated to include some of the top teams around the nation.
Leading the Cardinals, who will be making their third straight appearance in the Grater Louisville Classic, is junior Courtney Edon (New Palestine, Ind./New Palestine) who has paced the squad in all three meets this season. She owns a season-best 5K clocking of 18:35.35 set at the Mel Brodt Collegiate Opener (Sept. 13) and a career-best 5K effort of 18:25.2 at the 2012 Ball State Invitational (Oct. 5).
Redshirt sophomore Madelyn Webster (Brownsburg, Ind./Brownsburg), who missed last season due to injury, posted her career-best 5K time of 19:05.7 on this same course E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park during the 2011 season.Ball State Cross Country Career Best 5K / 6K Times
