Ball State football's senior linebacker Kenneth Lee has been named the Mid-American Conference West Division Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Cardinals' 31-24 home win over Toledo.
Lee recorded his first career interception and his second sack of the season to lead the Ball State defense in its win over Toledo. Lee added eight tackles plus had 1.5 tackles for loss in the win.
Lee is the third Ball State player to be honored this season with one of the MAC's weekly awards. Nathan Ollie was named the MAC West Division Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Cardinals' win over Army, while Keith Wenning received the MAC West Offensive Player of the Week award for his game against Army.
With the victory, the Cardinals improved to 4-1 on the season and 2-0 in MAC action. Ball State will play a non-conference game at Virginia Saturday before returning to league play with its Oct. 12 Homecoming Game vs. Kent State at Scheumann Stadium at 3 p.m.
