MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State field hockey team suffered a 1-0 loss to Robert Morris on Friday, Sept. 6 at the BSU Turf Field at the Briner Sports Complex. Sophomore goalkeeper Shelby Henley made 11 saves on the day.
The Cardinals and Colonials held each other scoreless in the first half of play. Robert Morris had seven shots to Ball State’s four in the first period.
Robert Morris’ Jamie Hartley secured a goal in the 55th minute off an assist from Simone Bindels.
Henley made 11 saves on the day while the Colonials’ keeper Erin McKenzie made two.
Ball State is back in action on Sunday, Sept. 8 to take on Colgate at noon. Fans are encouraged to wear black to “Black Out” the Raiders. Students who swipe their student ID before halftime will receive 300 bonus points.
