MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's tennis coach Christine Bader has announced the hiring of graduate assistant Viktor Maksimcuk to her 2013-14 staff.
“Viktor is a great addition to our women's tennis program,” said Bader. “I am so thankful to have him with us. His tennis knowledge and experience will help take our program to a new level as we work to win a Mid-American Conference championship this season.”
Maksimcuk earned his bachelor's degree from Louisville in May 2012. He lettered all four years in tennis for the Cardinals. Maksimcuk helped Louisville win Big East and ITA regional championships in 2010 and 2011. The Cardinals won an NCAA Regional and advanced to the Sweet 16 in 2010.
Individually, Maksimcuk was a 2010 ITA National Indoor doubles qualifier, 2010 Midwest Region doubles champion, 2011 NCAA doubles quarterfinalist, 2011 Doubles All-American and a four-time All-Big East Conference Team recipient. He earned a national ranking all four years for Louisville. Academically, Maksimcuk was on the dean's list for four semesters. Maksimcuk served as the undergraduate assistant for the Louisville men’s tennis team during the 2011-12 season.
Prior to accepting the position at Ball State, Maksimcuk assisted the business manager at the tennis center in Louisville.
