This year's Ball State squad will have a new look after the departure of 10 seniors from a year ago and the addition of 13 newcomers. Northern Iowa is coming off a 2012 season in which it posted an 8-9-2 overall record and finished in the top half of the Missouri Valley Conference race at 3-2-2 in league play. The Panthers return their leading scorer from last year in Charlotte Jones, who scored four goals.
Green Bay went 5-11-1 a year ago and 2-4-1 in the Horizon League. Hannah Kernan is the top returning offensive player for the Phoenix after scoring three goals in 2012.
Ball State will play four of the season’s first five games in Muncie, including another home weekend Sept. 6-8 with games against Eastern Illinois and Tennessee Tech. The Cardinals will then go on the road for the remainder of September.
