Ball State Sports Link featured senior tight end Zane Fakes as the football team completed Fall Camp Practice No. 14 in preparation for the 2013 season.
Fakes, a 2012 All-Mid-American Conference and Academic All-MAC selection, started 10 games and played in all 13 for the Cardinals last season.
A member of the John Mackey Award Preseason Watch List, which honors the nation's top tight end, Fakes has started 28 career games. He managed five touchdown catches last fall and has seven in his career.
Fakes had a career high 11 catches for a career best 98 receiving yards vs. Northern Illinois last season.
Ball State, under the direction of third-year head football coach Pete Lembo, opens the season Thurs., Aug. 29, with a 7 p.m. home game vs. Illinois State in Scheumann Stadium.
All Ball State football practices are open to the media and public throughout fall camp. The remaining practice schedule is as follows:
