For the third consecutive summer, Muncie along with the surrounding communities have partnered with Ball State football to provide summer jobs and internship opportunities to Cardinals players.
BallStateSports.com got the chance to go behind the scenes with several Cardinals to give fans an exclusive look as how the team spends the summer. In the first edition of the series, we catch up with senior safety Joe Fazio, who follows Connor Ryan and Briggs Orsbon as an intern with Mutual Bank.
"I work on branch profitability reports, some coverage ratio analysis and then a lot of reconciliations," Fazio says. "Now I have a good idea of what it's like to work in a bank and it's very interesting. People probably think it's a super professional suit and tie environment, and it is, but there's also a great culture here. I definitely would like the culture at a bank, and working at one in the future after having this experience would be a great start to my career."
Ball State, under the direction of third-year head coach Pete Lembo, will open the 2013 season Thurs., Aug. 29, vs. Illinois State in a home game at Scheumann Stadium.
