MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State football program held its annual Ray Louthen Memorial Alumni Golf Tournament on Friday, June 7, at the Delaware Country Club in Muncie, Ind.
The event began at noon with a cookout, followed by a 1 p.m. shotgun start. The Ball State assistant coaches were stationed at each hole to meet and greet each foursome. At the completion of the event, there was a dinner and an awards program. The members of the 1976 Mid-American Conference Championship Team were recognized at the dinner. In addition, Coach Pete Lembo and his staff gave an update on the 2013 season. Lembo also was stationed at the 11th green to meet and greet the participants.
Former football letterwinners Todd Wright, Rick Burgard, Pat Stoltz and Marc Martin combined to shoot a 58 in the Florida Scramble format to win the golf outing. Ball State assistant coach Joey Lynch and his former teammates Brad Seiss, Andy Roesch and Riley Larimore came in a close second after shooting 59.
The outing is an annual event designed to bring back football letterwinners from the past. A reduced rate is offered to more recent alums. For information on next year’s summer golf outing, follow the Cardinals on www.ballstatesports.com.
