CLEVELAND, Ohio – Ball State men’s tennis team had four players receive Academic-All-Mid-American Conference honors. Senior Dalton Albertin and sophomore Ray Leonard were named First Team Academic All-MAC while senior Cliff Morrison and junior Austin Smith garnered Academic All-MAC Honorable Mention.
“We take a lot of pride in the academic achievements of our student athletes,” said Ball State men’s tennis coach Bill Richards. “To have two first team selections and two honorable mentions is a great accomplishment. We are proud of what these young men have accomplished on the court with a conference championship, as well as what they have accomplished in the class room.”
This is the third time Albertin has received Academic All-MAC First Team honors and the first for Leonard. Albertin earned Second Team All-MAC this season while teammate Leonard was tabbed First Team All-MAC.
Morrison has now been honored academically by the MAC three times with two First Team Academic All-MAC awards and one honorable mention. Morrison earned Second Team All-MAC honors this year for the fourth time in his career. This is the first time Smith has been recognized for his academic achievements by the MAC office.
