Ball State's baseball team posted its seventh straight win with a 10-6 victory over Toledo at Ball Diamond in Muncie, Ind., Saturday afternoon.

With the victory, the Cardinals improved to 26-20 overall and 13-10 in Mid-American Conference action, while Toledo fell to 19-29 overall and 10-13 in league play.

Ball State remains in second place in the MAC West Division, and will host Toledo in the final game of the three game series Sunday at 1 p.m.

Tyler Jordan pitched the final 5.2 innings, allowing only two earned runs and striking out four, to record the win for the Cardinals and improve to 2-5 on the season.  Chris Marangon started on the mound for the Cardinals and pitched 3.1 innings, allowing only one earned run, before leaving the game with a no decision.

Toledo scored first with one run in the top half of the first before the Cardinals rallied for three runs in the bottom half of the first frame.  Ryan Spaulding singled and scored two batters later on a throwing error by Toledo.  Blake Beemer followed that play up with a double that scored Cody Campbell, who had reached on an error.  Billy Wellman completed the innings scoring with a single to score Beemer.

The Rockets added two more in the top of the third to tie the game at 3-3, but Ball State responded with a three run third inning to take a 6-3 advantage.

Wes Winkle led off the third with a single and scored on a Spaulding double in the next at-bat.  Sean Godfrey singled and put runners on the corners.  Campbell hit a hot liner to third, but a Toledo throwing error while trying to double up the Cardinals scored Spaulding and Ball State led 5-3.  Beemer bunted to score Godfrey and it was 6-3 in favor of the Cardinals.

Toledo added one more in the top of the fourth to close the gap to 6-4 before the Cardinals had their third three run inning of the game in the bottom of the fifth to take a 9-4 advantage.

Wellman opened the inning with another single and managed a 3-for-4 performance on the day.  T.J. Weir was hit by a pitch to put runners on first and second.  A Sam Tidaback double to left center scored Wellman and put Ball State ahead 7-4.  Winkle's sacrifice fly scored Weir and Ball State led 8-4.  Spaulding's run-batted-in single scored Tidaback and it was 9-4 in favor of the Cardinals.

Ball State added a run in the sixth to make it a 10-4 game before Toledo scored one in the seventh and one in the ninth for the final 10-6 tally.

Campbell led off the sixth with a single and advanced to second on a wild pitch.  Wellman singled to move Campbell to third, but a fielding error by the rightfielder enabled Campbell to score and make it 10-4.

Spaulding was 3-for-5 on the day with two RBI and two runs scored.  Godfrey was 2-for-4, while Tidaback was 2-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored.

Ball State's seven game win streak is its longest since the Cardinals won 10 straight games in 2008.
