Courtney Wild of the Ball State women's tennis team has been named to the All-Mid-American Conference Tournament team.
"I am very proud of Courtney for all she has accomplished this season," said head women's tennis coach Christine Bader. "She lost only six singles matches all year at No. 1 singles. Wild continues to lead our team by helping to take our program to a higher level.
Wild was named All-MAC First Team for the second straight season earlier this week. Wild ended the season with a 17-6 dual mark and a 6-2 league record at the No. 1 singles position. She started the MAC season with five straight wins over league schools' Miami University, Akron, Buffalo, Toledo, and Eastern Michigan.
Wild helped the Cardinals reach the MAC Tournament semifinal round for the first time since 1998. She earned a 6-2, 6-2 defeat over Western Michigan's Nini Sujashvili at the No. 1 singles position in the MAC quarterfinals which helped Ball State beat Western Michigan, 4-3.
No. 4 Ball State ended its season Saturday with its 4-0 MAC Tournament semifinal loss to No. 1 Miami. Miami went on to win the 2013 MAC Tournament Sunday afternoon with its 4-3 win over No. 2 Bowling Green.
