Indiana Basketball HOF Honors Three From Ball State

The Ball State women's basketball program will be represented at the 2013 Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame awards banquet Saturday.

After her playing days at Jasper High School, Karen Bauer Stenftenage was a four-year letterwinner at Ball State.  Stenftenage ended her career with 1,095 points and 706 rebounds.  She still holds Ball State's single season rebounding average record with 11.3 rebounds per game for the 1981-82 season. She was a two-time Second Team Academic All-American and was inducted in the Ball State Athletics Hall of Fame in 2000.

Bauer played at Jasper High School helping the Wildcats to three sectional championships, two regional championships, one semi-state championship.  She also helped Jasper reach the 1979 state finals, where she received the IHSAA's mental attitude award.

Stephanie McQuinn of Clinton Central High School and Tracy Roller of Crown Point have been chosen as memebers of the 2013 Women's Silver Anniversary Team.  The team includes 18 total members which is based on outstanding accomplishments as a senior basketball player 25 years ago.

McQuinn ended her career at Ball State in 1992, where at the time she was ranked second on the school’s career list in steals (208), second in assists (364), third in rebounding (678), sixth in scoring (938) and sixth in blocked shots (45).  At the time she was the only women's basketball player in Ball State history to rank among the all-time career top 10 in all five statistical categories.

Roller was the Ball State head women's basketball coach from 2001-2007.  She is just the third basketball coach, men's or women's, in Ball State history to reach the 100 career victory mark.

Under her tutelage, the Cardinals posted three 20-win seasons.  She is the all-time winningest coach in the 39-year history of the program at Ball State.  Roller coached four teams to Mid-American West Division titles, along with three Women’s National Invitation Tournament appearances.
