ST. CHARLES, Mo. - Ball State men's volleyball middle attacker Kevin Owens was named MIVA Defensive Player of the Week after his performance in sweeps over Quincy and Lindenwood. This is the second time this season Owens has received the award.
Owens led the blocking unit for Ball State this past weekend with 1.50 blocks per set. In addition, the junior middle blocker was credited with a 2.17 kills per set average off a .500 hitting percentage. Owens also recorded a service ace in the victory over Lindenwood.
Ball State is 18-5 so far this season and 7-5 in MIVA action. The Cardinals are riding a 10-match winning streak which is the longest winning streak since the 2008 season when BSU won 11 in a row.
The Cardinals will wrap up the regular season this weekend with matches against Lewis and Loyola-Chicago at Worthen Arena.
