MUNCIE, Ind. -- The Ball State men’s golf team is set to compete Monday and Tuesday at the Jim West Intercollegiate hosted by Texas State in McKinney, Texas.
The tournament will feature 36 holes on day one and the final 18 holes on day two with live scoring available at golfstat.com. The Cardinals are one of 11 full teams competing on a par-72, 7,417-yard layout at TPC Craig Ranch.
At No. 46 in the Golfweek rankings and No. 53 by Golfstat, Ball State is the second-highest ranked team in the field after No. 36 Vanderbilt. TCU, the nation’s No. 12 team, is sending individuals but will not be competing as a full team.
The field includes five other teams ranked among the top 150: UTSA (103), Stephen F. Austin (110), Texas State (116), UALR (122) and Florida Gulf Coast (150). Campbell, Oral Roberts, Northern Illinois and McNeese State round out the field.
The Cardinals played an unofficial dual match Saturday in Fort Worth against UT Arlington. It was a match play event that ended with both teams winning two of the five individual matches, losing two and halving the other. Ball State has played two stroke-play tournaments this spring, winning the Pinehurst Intercollegiate and finishing seventh at the Memphis Intercollegiate.
Monday’s action at TPC Craig Ranch gets underway at 9 a.m. CT (10 a.m. ET), while Tuesday’s final round is scheduled for an 8:30 a.m. CT start.
