MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's tennis team (10-8, 1-1 MAC) lost a tough 4-3 Mid-American Conference match to Akron (13-6, 1-0 MAC) Friday afternoon at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center.
The afternoon started off great for the Cardinals as the senior duo of Lauren Pickrel and Paolo Rodriguez clinched the doubles point. Pickrel and Rodriguez came back from being down 4-2 to win 8-5 over the Zips Angelika Jogasuria and Ksenia Bereststetska.
Sophomore Courtney Wild continued her winning ways as she took down Angelina Jogasuria in straight sets 6-4, 6-1 at the No. 1 position. Wild is now 14-3 in dual action and 2-0 in the MAC. Sanders also remained undefeated in league play with her 7-5, 6-1 No. 4 singles defeat over Angelika Jogasuria. Unfortunately the Zips would pull off four singles matches for the Akron victory.
