Women’s Golf Team Wraps up UALR Golf Classic

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, Ark. -- The Ball State women’s golf team finished in 13th place Tuesday to close out the UALR Women’s Golf Classic.

The Cardinals finished off a score of 322 in a second round that was suspended Monday because of darkness. Ball State then posted another 322 in the third and final round for a 54-hole total of 977 (333-322-322).

Sam Houston State won the tournament with a team score of 937, topping second-place Middle Tennessee by one stroke on the par-72, 6,054-yard layout at Diamante Country Club.

Georgina Mundy of North Texas claimed the individual title by posting a three-round total of 222 to take medalist honors by five strokes.

Zoe Camus was the top finisher for Ball State, tying for 32nd place at 243 (84-79-80). Autumn Duke was one shot behind Camus in a tie for 37th at 244 (85-80-79).

Meghan Perry carded a 246 (80-86-80), Jenna Hague posted a 249 (84-82-83), and Sarah Westaway finished at 252 (88-81-83) to round out the Cardinals’ lineup.

The UALR Classic was Ball State’s third event of the spring. The Cardinals are back in action April 5-6 at Eastern Kentucky’s Colonel Classic in Richmond, Ky.
