Ball State's gymnastics team finished seventh at the 2013 Mid-American Conference Championships in Kalamazoo, Mich.

The Cardinals will now await NCAA Regional bids for individuals to complete the season.

Ball State managed a school record with a team score of 49.00 on the vault, breaking the previous mark of 48.90 at the 2000 MAC Championships.

Denasiha Christian tied for third on the vault with a 9.850, while Nicole Allen tied for sixth with a 9.825.  Brooke Evans and Brittney Emmons tied for ninth with a 9.800.

On the bars, Ball State's top finisher was Samantha Santos with a tie for ninth and a score of 9.750.  Santos was also the top competitor for the Cardinals on the beam with a 9.725.

Emmons was Ball State's top finisher on the floor with a 9.800.  Emmons also placed 10th in the all-around with a 38.00.

Western Michigan and Central Michigan tied for the championship with a pair of 194.800 scores.  Kent State was third with a 194.775, Northern Illinois was fourth with a 194.050, Bowling Green was fifth with a 193.750, Eastern Michigan was sixth with a 193.675 and Ball State tallied a 192.500.
