Ball State's football team held its annual Pro Day for National Football League scouts at Scheumann Stadium.
Six Cardinals worked out for the pro scouts in addition to over 15 student-athletes from a variety of schools. Participating in the workout from Ball State were Justin Cruz, Dwayne Donigan, Travis Freeman, Austin Holtz, Brandon Newman and Kitt O'Brien. Steven Schott participated in the event, but was unable to kick due to weather conditions.
Holtz had an impressive day, and his numbers combined for the day would have placed him among the top-20 offensive linemen who performed at the National Football League Combine in February. Holtz managed a vertical jump of 27.5 feet, while his broad jump was 8-feet-6, and his 20-yard shuttle time was 4.69.
Scouts from NFL teams in attendance, included Jacksonville, Indianapolis, Detroit, Kansas City, Seattle, New York Jets and New York Giants.
