MUNCIE, Ind. -- The Ball State soccer team posted a pair of shutout victories Saturday in its first action of the spring at the Briner Sports Complex.

The Cardinals took down Findlay, 3-0, to open the day and then defeated Southern Indiana, 2-0. Both contests consisted of two 35-minute halves.

Veteran Ball State players Maimee Morris and Nicole Pembleton each scored two goals on the day, while newcomer Jenna Finke -- a transfer from Murray State -- also scored.

Goalkeeper Layne Schramm was between the posts for both Ball State victories.

"I was very pleased with the way we played today," Ball State coach Craig Roberts said. "The girls were able to implement a lot of the strategies and tactics we have been working on. We were unified as a team and had good chemistry out there."
