Hartley and Leske Sweep MIVA Awards

MUNCIE, Ind. - Ball State men's volleyball players Jamion Hartley and Matt Leske have earned the MIVA Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week for their play over the weekend. The Ball State Cardinals defeated Sacred Heart in straight sets and earned a 3-1 win over No. 10 Penn State. 

Hartley, a senior outside hitter saw time in the Ball State lineup this past weekend and recorded a match-high 18 kills in the 3-1 win over No. 10 Penn State. Hartley recorded his second and third double-digit kill match this past weekend in the Don Shondell Active Ankle Challenge. Hartley also recorded 1.14 blocks per set. This is the first time that Hartley has earned a nod from the conference. 

Junior middle blocker Matt Leske earns his third Defensive Player of the Week honor after leading Ball State with 1.86 blocks per set over the weekend in wins over Sacred Heart and No. 10 Penn State. The middle attacker recorded a solo block in each match and 11 assisted blocks. Leske leads the team this season with a 1.45 blocks per set average.
