Men's S&D Sixth After Day Two of MAC Championships

CARBONDALE, Ill. – The Ball State men’s swimming and diving team sit in sixth place after the second day of competition at the 2013 Men’s Swimming and Diving MAC Championships. Drew Tharp, Michael Oaks and Joseph Morris advanced to event finals on the day.

The 200 medley relay of Michael Weber, Morris, Tharp and Oaks came in sixth place with a time of 1:31.79 while the 800 free relay of Morris, Tharp, Nicholas Stevens and Oaks turned in a time of 6:51.25 for sixth place.

Morris turned in a school-record, pool-record and NCAA B cut time of 55.19 in the preliminaries of the 100 breast to advance to the evening finals. He earned fourth place with a time of 55.46.

Tharp advanced to the finals of the 100 fly after turning in a time of 50.47 in the preliminaries. He would finish 16th in the finals clocking a 50.64.

Oaks advanced to the 200 free finals after turning in a time of 1:41.15 in the morning preliminaries. He would finish 16th in the finals with a time of 1:44.56.
