Ball State's football team will open Spring Practice March 26 and continue until the annual Spring Game Sat., April 20, at 3 p.m. in Scheumann Stadium.

The Cardinals will conduct spring practices on Tuesday's, Wednesday's, Friday's and Saturday's and all sessions are open to the public free of charge.

"We have had a good offseason and our players are ready to put the pads back on" Ball State head coach Pete Lembo says.  "Every team is different and every year presents its own unique set of challenges. The next month will give us an opportunity to learn more about our strengths and weaknesses heading into next season.  We are anxious to see how some of our younger players translate their gains in the weight room and in the meeting room to the practice field."

Ball State opens the 2013 season Thurs., Aug. 29, vs. Illinois State at Scheumann Stadium.

The Cardinals posted a 9-4 overall record in 2012, including a berth in the Beef "O" Brady's St. Petersburg Bowl.  Ball State managed two wins over teams from Football Bowl Subdivision automatic qualifying conferences -- Indiana and South Florida -- plus defeated Army and tallied a 6-2 record in Mid-American Conference play.

Ball State will typically run spring practice from 3:35-5:50 p.m. during the week and 10 a.m. to Noon on Saturday's.  Days and times are subject to change.  For the most up-to-date practice days and times, contact the Ball State Football Office at 765.285.8251.
