Men's S&D in Sixth After Day One of MAC Championships

CARBONDALE, Ill. ­ -  The Ball State men's swimming and diving team were led by senior Michael Weber and junior Jake Brehmer on the first day of competition at the MAC Championships. After the first day of competition, the Cardinals sit in sixth place with 58 points.

Weber qualified for the 200 IM consolation finals after placing 12th in the preliminaries with a time of 1:52.06. The senior would finish 14th in the finals with a time of 1:52.06.

Brehmer turned in a mark of 223.65 in the preliminaries of the 1-meter diving competition and turned around to place 14th in the finals with a score of 246.05.

In the relays, the 400 medley relay of Weber, Joseph Morris, Drew Tharp and Michael Oaks came in fifth place with a school-record time of 3:19.69. The 200 free relay of Cole Smith, Tucker Hale, Tharp and Weber turned in a time of 1:25.03 for seventh.
