Football's Lembo Speaks at Dinner and Alumni Event
Ball State third-year head football coach Pete Lembo spoke at the 59th annual Sportsmanship Dinner in Schererville, Ind., to over 800 attendees.
The dinner brings together boys basketball teams from across Northwest Indiana prior to Indiana High School Athletic Association sectional play. Funds raised are awarded for scholarships to deserving high school students across the area.
Previous speakers included Mike Brey (Notre Dame men's basketball head coach), Pat Fitzgerald (Northwestern's football head coach) and Matt Painter (Purdue head men's basketball coach).
"It was an honor for me to speak to such a large group of high school student-athletes at this historic banquet in Northwest Indiana," Lembo says. "This was a great opportunity to promote Ball State University in this important part of the state. Considering the tradition and the prestige of the previous speakers, I definitely had some big shoes to fill."
Coach Lembo will also be a featured guest at the Ball State Alumni Association's Indianapolis Area Casino Night Saturday at the Northside Knights of Columbus on 71st Street.
The event runs from 6:30 to 9 p.m., and the cost of the event is $20 per person.
