Men's Volleyball Faces No. 6 Ohio State on Sunday

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State men’s volleyball team (8-2, 3-2 MIVA) heads to face No. 6 Ohio State for a 4 p.m. match up St. John Arena. The Cardinals are coming off a 3-1 loss to IPFW.

Greg Herceg and Matt Leske were named this week’s MIVA Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week as voted by conference SIDs. Herceg had a team-high 11 kills against IPFW, while Leske connected on eight kills.

Sophomore outside hitter Matt Sutherland had his first career double-double against the Mastodons with a career-high 11 kills and 10 digs. Libero Tommy Rouse got under a career-high tying 18 digs while middle attacker Kevin Owens was credited with seven assisted blocks.

Ohio State is 8-2 on the season and 2-0 in the conference. The offense is led by Andrew Lutz and Michael Henchy who get 3.66 and 3.53 kills per set. Grayson Overman gets 1.17 blocks per set.

The Cardinals hold the series advantage at 99-90-1. Ball State is 31-46 in Columbus and last won on the Buckeyes’ home court on Apr. 7, 2006.
