Ball State women's basketball won just four conference games in 2012, finishing at the bottom of the Mid-American Conference's West Division. But nine games into the 2013 league schedule, the Cards are 8-1 and tied for first not just in the west, but in the entire MAC.
Under new head coach Brady Sallee, BSU began the calendar year with an upset of East Division favorite Miami. The Red and White picked up its latest accolades with a win over once 7-0 Central Michigan Thursday. At 8-1, Ball State is one of just 44 teams in Division-I with one or fewer league losses to date. It's elite company that only 13% of DI teams can still claim.
So how have the Cards gotten it done? Well, it's been about hustle and heart. It's been about toughness and tenacity. It's been about lots and lots of hard work. This, Cardinal fans, is Brady Ball.
