Women's S&D Fall to Miami

OXFORD, Ohio – The Ball State women’s swimming and diving team dropped a 175-104 decision to the Miami RedHawks Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals came in first in five events.

Bridgette Ruehl won the 100 breast with a time of 1:03.84. Sumaiyah Ahmad finished fifth with a 1:07.16 while Stacey Wierman and Cori Vormohr finished seventh and eighth with times of 1:07.52 and 1:08.53. Ruehl also won the 200 breast with a time of 2:19.69. Ahmad finished third (2:24.35), Vormohr came in sixth (2:28.17) and Wierman earned seventh (2:28.19).

Freshman Madie Zirzow earned first place in the 1-meter with a score of 253.20. In the 3-meter diving, Zirzow finished third with a mark of 252.45.

Katelyn Pratt earned first place in the 400 IM with a time of 4:38.76 while Leighann Mattson finished second with a time of 4:57.34.

The Cardinals earned first place in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:36.53 and came in second in the 200 medley relay 1:45.28.

Haley Richter finished third in the 200 free (1:54.22), while Emily Wisolek earned fourth (1:54.33). In the 100 free, Richter earned second with a 52.23, while Carlena Magley earned fourth with a time of 53.05. Dana Graunke came in eighth with a 54.09.

Pratt finished third in the 100 back with a time of 58.33 while Jackie Iglesias clocked in at 1:02.69. In the 200 back, Pratt earned second (2:06.42) while Iglesias came in sixth (2:15.07).

In the 200 fly, Mallory Miles clocked a 2:11.57 for fourth, while MacKenzie Imbro earned sixth with 2:15.58. In the 100 fly, Richter came in second (55.52), Elaine Pitsas in sixth (59.65), Miles in seventh (1:00.14) and MacKenzie Imbro in eighth (1:02.94).

Cheyanne Jackson finished third in the 1650 free with a time of 18:00.82. Mattson earned sixth place with a time of 18:35.59. In the 500 free, Wisolek came in fourth with a time of 5:08.14 while Jackson finished in 5:17.36 for sixth place.

In the 50 free, Ball State finished fifth through eighth with Mallory Przybylinski clocking a 24.13, Carlena Magley a 24.16, Dana Graunke a 24.72 and Jillian Bischoff a 24.85.
