Woody Earns MAC Women's Basketball Weekly Honors

Ball State junior guard Brandy Woody has been named the Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week for the first time in her career.

Woody averaged 26.0 points per game last week along with 7.0 rebounds, 3.5 assits and 4.5 steals.  She scored a career-high 29 points Wednesday to lift the Cardinals to a 69-55 victory over Buffalo at Alumni Arena.  Woody also had a career-best 11 rebounds and seven steals that game.

Ball State then improved its MAC record to 5-1 after a 77-46 victory over Ohio Saturday afternoon in Worthen Arena.  Woody led the Cardinals with a 23 point performance off of 6-of-6 shooting from field and 10-of-12 from the charity stripe.  Woody scored 17 of those points in the first half alone.

The Ball State women's basketball team begins a two-game conference road-swing when it travels to Western Michigan Thursday for a 7 p.m. tipoff in University Arena.
