MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will host Eastern Michigan on Saturday, Jan. 19. The women’s meet will begin at 11 a.m., with the men’s meet to follow at 2 p.m. The women will also host Illinois State on Monday, Jan. 21 at 1 p.m.
The last time the women faced Eastern Michigan during the 2010-11 season, they posted a 156-144 victory in Ypsilanti, Mich. Then freshmen Emily Wisolek, Mallory Miles, Haley Richter and Bridgette Ruehl all posted individual wins.
The Ball State women last faced Illinois State last season, earning a 194.5-105.5 win. Richter, Ruehl, Wisolek, Carlena Magley, Katelyn Pratt all added wins for the Cardinals.
The women are coming off a meet where they earned three dual victories – over Xavier, Marshall and IUPUI. Eight Cardinals earned individual wins and two relays secured the top spot.
The men last squared off with Eastern Michigan in a dual meet during the 2010-11 season, falling 170-119. Michael Weber and Jake Brehmer both earned first place in their respective events, the 200 IM and the 1-meter diving competition.
The men are coming off a win over IUPUI, 70-63, and a 73-58 setback to Xavier. Joseph Morris swept the breaststroke, while the 200 medley relay team of Weber, Morris, Drew Tharp and Michael Oaks touched first.
