WBB Wraps Up Road Swing at Austin Peay Saturday

What's On Tap: Ball State played its third straight road game of the season when it took on Murray State Thursday nigth at the CFSB Center. Junior forward Katie Murphy led the Cardinals with her first double-double of the season after scoring a career high 20 points and tied her personal best rebounding performance with 14. Senior guard Shanee' Jackson tallied a season high nine points on the night. Ball State will now end its four game road swing as it faces Austin Peay Saturday which marks the second straight Ohio Valley Conference opponent this week the Cardinals will have faced.
About Austin Peay: The Lady Govs have started off the season with an overall mark of 1-5. Austin Peay's lone victory came against Binghamton at home by a score of 71-67. The Lady Govs have lost three straight with the most recent loss to to Vanderbilt, 67-36. So far this season Austin Peay owns a 1-1 homestand at the Dunn Center.
The Coaches: Ball State head coach Brady Sallee is in his first season at Ball State. Sallee's career coaching record is 138-114 and he is 2-5 with the Cardinals. He was named the the 11th head women's basketball coach in Ball State history May 10. Carrie Daniels is in her seventh year as Austin Peay's head coach. Daniels owns a 73-122 career record at Austin Peay. A native of Indiana, Daniels played at Scottsburg High School where she earned All-America recognition from Women's Basketball News Service after averaging 17 points, 6.3 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game as a senior.
The Series: The Cardinals end its four game road trip Saturday at Austin Peay. Saturday's game is only the third meeting all-time between Ball State and Austin Peay. Ball State leads the all-time series record 2-0. The Cardinals earned a 59-55 victory at Worthen Arena last season over Austin Peay and then won by a score of 68-59 at a neutral site in 2007-08.
